Outer Space Birthday Party!
Age 8-13

If you have a budding astrologer or astronaut, this is the party to have! If possible, hold this party in the evening so the guests can do some stargazing.

Decorations: Hang stars, moons, and planets from the ceiling and on the walls. Stars can be made out of aluminum foil and hung with fishing line. Get paper plates and napkins with a space theme on them or create your own! Drinks can be served in a bottle with a spout or straw. Have your local bakery make a "spaceship" cake or perhaps one in the shape of a star. Buy some of the "space foods" that are now available and give a package to each guest as a party favor.

The Astronaut Game: Provide construction paper, glue, and scissors and have the kids draw a rocket ship. Have a black poster board with a moon on it taped to the wall. Place double-stick tape on the back of each rocket ship; blindfold one person at a time, spin them around a few times, and point them in the direction of the "Moon". The "astronaut" who lands the closest to the moon, wins a prize.
